LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (6-7, 3-6 PSAC) fell to fellow Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East opponent Millersville University (6-8, 4-5 PSAC), 64-46.
Millersville got off to strong start, scoring the first 11 points of the game on an 11-0 run. The fast start had MU leading 18-4 after the first quarter. Millersville shot 37 percent in the first-half and led 31-11. LHU's
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) led all scorers with six first-half points.
In the second half LHU outscored Millersville by two but it was not enough to erase the first half deficit.
Ayanda McGill-Jefferson (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) did everything she could to spark the Bald Eagles as she recorded yet another double-double. McGill-Jefferson scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds.
Mealing was also in double digits in scoring as she had a game-high 12. She also brought down eight rebounds and blocked three shots.
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) chipped in with eight points as well for The Haven.
Tonight marked the start of a busy week for Lock Haven. The Bald Eagles will head to Cheyney on Wednesday, January 11 (7:30 p.m.), before hosting Shippensburg on Saturday, January 14 (4 p.m.).
