EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (10-11, 3-6 PSAC) was able to rebound from their loss to Kutztown last night to get a quality win over East Stroudsburg (11-9, 2-7 PSAC) 3-0 (29-27, 26-24, 25-23) on the road.
The Bald Eagles and the Warriors played a very tight match overall, with all three being decided by only two points. Lock Haven was able to make the plays they needed to down the stretch to pick up the victory and grab their 10
th win of the season.
The Bald Eagle offense used their balance in their attacks, having three different players with double digit kills.
Breanna McDonald (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) led the charge with her 12 kills.
Chloe Williams (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and
Veronica Morrison (Sugar Run, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) added 11 kills and 10 kills respectively.
Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) was the stalwart defensively for LHU, tallying 19 digs. Morrison also did a stellar job on defense for the Haven, tallying 11 digs and a block assist.
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) continued her stellar season for Lock Haven. The conference leader in total assists tacked on 39 more, bringing her total on the year to 891.
The Bald Eagles hit the road again for their next match as the travel to Millersville on Friday, October 20. The first serve of that match is set for 7:00 pm.
