ESU slips by LHU in clash of regionally-ranked teams

In a PSAC match between two of the Atlantic Region’s top-10 teams, the LHU men’s soccer team was downed 3-1 by host East Stroudsburg.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-3-3, 3-2-1 PSAC) was downed 3-1 at East Stroudsburg (6-2-1, 4-2 PSAC) tonight in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match that featured two of the Atlantic Region's premier teams this season.
 
Lock Haven, fresh off back-to-back wins over top-25 teams, entered today's match ranked No. 4 in the region, while ESU was ranked No. 8 in the Atlantic Region.
 
Freshman Beckham Sibiski (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown H.S.) provided the offensive spark for The Haven and netted his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
 
Sibiski put Lock Haven up 1-0 just 6:10 into the match as the Bald Eagles early pressure paid off.
 
In the 22nd minute, ESU tied the match at 1-1 after Brandon Levano converted from the penalty spot.
 
At halftime, the two teams remained deadlocked at 1-1.
 
The Warriors netted a pair of second-half goals. ESU went up 2-1 in the 63rd minute after Eddy Enowbi scored against the run of play. The goal sparked East Stroudsburg, who made it 3-1 in the 73rd minute.
 
Senior goalkeeper Troy Teresak, the reigning PSAC Player of the Week, finished with six saves.
 
The Bald Eagles will host Seton Hill on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
