LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-4-3, 3-3-1 PSAC) rallied late but fell just short to Seton Hill (6-5-1, 3-3-0 PSAC) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) battle.
The Bald Eagles were stuck playing from behind for a majority of that game after Seton Hill's Henrik Berg put the griffins up 1-0 just 3 minutes into the game.
Lock Haven was able to tie the game a 1 goal apiece in the 66
th minute when
Luca Zannoni (Sernaglia della Battaglia, Italy/MarcoCasagrande) took a pass from
Reggie Holt (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) and put the ball in the upper right corner of the goal.
The Griffins had an answer for Zannoni's goal just 2 short minutes later, as Berg was able to put a free kick into the back of the net in the 68
th minute to put the Griffins back in the lead 2-1. They then added another goal in the 87
th minute to go up 3-1.
Zach Hommey (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) did his best to rally the Haven late and was able to put in a penalty kick in the 88
th minute to cut the deficit to 3-2. The rally was just a little too late.
The Bald Eagles will return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 13 when they travel to take on Mercyhurst at 1:30 p.m.
