LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (3-7, 3-7 PSAC) fell 2-1 today in a double overtime thriller to Seton Hill University (8-4-1, 6-4-1 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
The game was scoreless for a majority of the contest before
Haleigh Swam (Westminster, MD./Winters Mill) scored on a two-on-one breakaway after she took a cross from
Leisha Noble (West Milford N.J./West Milford), and fired it into the back of the net.
Seton Hill however would respond in the 74
th minute and tied the game which ultimately send it to overtime.
Bree Hilty (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) stepped up huge in the net for The Haven as she recorded seven saves. In the 110
th minute she stopped a Seton Hill penalty kick however she could not collect the rebound, and Emma Bearinger knocked it in for the game-winner.
LHU kept Seton Hill's defense busy throughout the game as Lock Haven fired 10 shots (seven on target).
Gabby Kishbaugh (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) and Swam led the charge with four and three shots, respectively.
The Bald Eagles will return to the pitch on Monday October, 9 when they head to Salem International in a non-conference matchup.
