Amir Hinton was named to the All-Tournament Team. Over the two-game span, Hinton averaged 31 points and six rebounds. He scored 34 in the opener vs. Virginia Union and added 28 vs. Shaw.
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) paved way for the The Haven, however the Lock Haven University men's basketball (0-2) fell to Shaw University (1-1) by a score of 78-70.
For Lock Haven, it marked the second of two games at the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic, hosted by Shippensburg. Yesterday LHU took on Virginia Union to open its season.
The Bald Eagles led 38-22 after the first 20 minutes of play. In the second half it was a battle, as Shaw got back into the game shooting 52.8% from the field during the last 20 minutes.
Hinton scored 28 points in the game for LHU as he converted from the free throw line shooting 15-18 from the charity stripe.
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) chipped in with 12 points while also grabbing seven rebounds.
Freshman,
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) stepped up big as he went four for eight from the field and scored 10 points while dishing out three assists.
