INDIANA, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (11-15, 4-10) fell in a hard fought road match to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival IUP (20-7, 11-3) 3-0 (25-14, 30-28, 25-18).
After falling in the first set, the Bald Eagles gave the Crimson Hawks everything they could handle and more. Rally after rally and point after point, the teams exchanged highlight after highlight. The Crimson Hawks eventually ended up taking the second set 30-28, then were able to carry that momentum into the third set to get the win.
The Lock Haven offense was led by
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) and
Veronica Morrison (Sugar Run, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) as they both tallied 10 kills.
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the Bald Eagles with 24 assists.
On defense,
Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) led the charge with 21 digs while Nealon was able to add 16 of her own.
Chloe Williams (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) also played well defensively, leading The Haven with five blocks.
The Bald Eagles stay on the road for the next game, as they travel to Clarion to take on The Golden Eagles on Saturday, Nov 4. The game is scheduled to start at 1:00pm
