LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (8-15, 5-14 PSAC) fell in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action to Cheyney University (5-16, 5-15 PSAC) by a final score of, 58-50.
In a back-and-forth first half LHU and Cheyney ended the half all tied at 26-26.
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) who came into the game as the top rebounder in the PSAC and No. 2 in NCAA DII was all over the boards as she hauled in 10 in the first 20 minutes of play.
The third quarter was once again an exciting back-and-forth affair that saw nine lead changes. LHU trailed by one (42-41) going into the final quarter.
Mealing recorded her eighth double-double in a row as she had 11 points and brought down 17 rebounds.
LHU led a balanced scoring attack that saw all nine players score.
Annie Dombrowski (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) had a career night, securing 10 rebounds, while also scoring seven points. Her 10 rebounds ties her career high while the seven points surpasses her previous best.
Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) and
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) scored eight and seven points, respectively.
Lock Haven will return to the action on Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host West Chester on Senior Day.
