SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Playing a top-20 team for the second straight game and second time in four days, the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (10-11, 6-11 PSAC) came up short tonight at No. 13 Shippensburg University (20-2, 16-2 PSAC), falling to the Red Raiders, 88-72 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.
Leading the way for Lock Haven tonight was freshmen
Tarojae Brake (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) and
Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington), who both had career nights.
Brake scored a career-high 21 points and Hinton had a career-night on the glass, pulling down a season-best 14 rebounds. Hinton also scored 16 points, dished out three assists, recorded three steals and he added a block.
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) added 10 points, while both
Cole Renninger (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) and
Khaleeq Campbell (Chester, Pa./Chester) scored nine points apiece. Campbell netted a trio of 3-pointers.
Four different Ship players scored in double figures including Dustin Sleva and Justin McCarthur, who both had 24 points.
Lock Haven returns to action on Saturday, February 11 at Millersville (3 p.m.).
