JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Despite the cool early-March temperatures, the Bald Eagle bats continued to heat up and torment opposing pitchers as the Lock Haven University baseball team (6-2) rolled to a 14-10 win at Pitt-Johnstown (8-7) in a scheduled nine-inning game.
Lock Haven scored its 14 runs on 19 hits and the Bald Eagles hit three more home runs today. Through eight games this season, LHU already has 16 homers. Lock Haven hit just 23 all of last season (50 games).
With the win, LHU also extends its win streak to four games. During the win streak, Lock Haven has scored 45 runs.
Todays' game featured two of the region's best teams so far this season. UPJ entered the game ranked No. 10 in the Atlantic Region while LHU received votes in this week's regional rankings.
The Bald Eagles open their annual Spring Break trip on Sunday, March 12 in Wilson, North Carolina vs. West Virginia State. The first pitch of game one of the doubleheader has been moved to 10 a.m.
