LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (10-12, 1-1 PSAC Central) opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division play today at Pitt-Johnstown (9-7, 1-1 PSAC Central) and the two teams split.
Â
Host-UPJ won Game 1, 6-2, but the Bald Eagles responded in a big way and took the nightcap, 4-0 behind a stellar pitching effort from
Bekah Slattery (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone).

In Game 1, Pitt-Johnstown scored its six runs on nine hits.
Â
In Game 2, it was all lock Haven and Slattery was a big reason why as she tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout. Slattery finished with five strikeouts.
Â
Lock Haven got the offense going in the fourth when
Michelle Holweger (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and
Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott) led off the inning with back-to-back home runs. Â
Â
Moriah Lindsey (Woolrich, Pa./Central Mountain) had an outstanding showing at the plate in Game 2 and finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
