SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –The No. 19 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (7-6, 4-4 PSAC) rallied late, but the Bald Eagles late-game scoring and push wasn't enough as they fell at Slippery Rock University (10-3, 5-3 PSAC), 11-7 in Pennsylvania's State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
The Bald Eagles scored five second-half goals and pushed hard late for a pair of goals in the final two minutes, but the rally wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit. Slippery Rock led 6-2 at halftime.
Leading the way for LHU was
Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), who scored three of The Haven's seven goals. She added an assist.
Ashley Gochenaur (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) scored two goals and
Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) finished with a goal, two caused turnovers, three draw controls and four ground balls.
Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers) added a goal and LHU goalkeeper
Hannah Houde (Jackson, N.J./Slippery Rock Univ.) made 11 saves.
The Bald Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, April 18 at Bloomsburg University (4 p.m.).
