ERIE, Pa. –The No. 20 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (8-7, 5-5 PSAC) was edged 8-7 tonight on the road at Gannon University (4-10, 2-8 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers),
Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and
Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) sparked the Lock Haven attack. Engler finished with three goals, while Kilian scored twice and Bissnette finished with two assists.
Gannon led 4-2 at halftime, but Lock Haven scored two quick goals and tied the game early in the second half. The quick start in the second gave LHU momentum, but the Bald Eagles just couldn't find enough to sneak past the hosts.
For the game, Lock Haven held a 18-11 advantage in shots and the Bald Eagles forced 13 turnovers.
The Bald Eagles will host Millersville Wednesday, April 26 at 4 p.m.
