LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (28-12, 14-8 PSAC East) split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East doubleheader today with visiting East Stroudsburg (20-19-1, 9-12-1 PSAC East).
East Stroudsburg won game one 8-5, but the Bald Eagles responded and won game two, 5-2.
In game one, ESU broke open a 5-5 tie in the top of the seventh with a three-run inning and the Warriors held on for the 8-5 win.
Despite the loss, the Bald Eagles five funs came off 12 total hits.
Matt Lahn (Georgetown, ONT./Erie Community College),
Kolby DeHaas (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley Community College),
Evan McFarland (Cottonwood, Ariz./Gateway Community College) and
Sam Kysor (Port Allegany, Pa./USC Upstate) all had multiple-hit games.
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) doubled in a pair of runs in the first as part of a four-run first inning.
Jacob Belinda (Port Matilda, Pa./Tyrone) struck out five in 4 2/3 innings of a no-decision.
In game two, LHU scored five runs on 11 hits and won 5-2.
Mike Anthony (Audubon, Pa./North Hampton Community College) scattered just four hits, struck out four and walked only one on the way to the complete-game victory.
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) was 2 for 3 with a RBI.
Kysor went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and McFarland went 2 for 3 with a RBI and a run scored.
LHU trailed 2-0, but broke open the game with four runs in the fifth and the Bald Eagles added one in the sixth.
Lock Haven and East Stroudsburg will meet again tomorrow (Saturday, April 29) at ESU.
