EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (28-14, 14-10 PSAC East) dropped two games on the road in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action at East Stroudsburg University (21-19, 10-12-1 PSAC East), 7-5 and 8-5.
East Stroudsburg took game one 7-5.
Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College) went two for four at the plate with one triple and one double, driving in two of the Bald Eagles five runs. Stover's two RBI double tied the LHU single season record for doubles.
Brett Morrison (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) went four innings striking out seven and walking just three batters.
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) and
Jamie Eshleman (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) each drove in a run for the Bald Eagles. Stotler was one for three in game one and Eshleman went two for four and scored two runs in the effort.
LHU fell in game two to the Warriors 8-5.
Matt Lahn (Georgetown, ONT./Erie Community College),
Evan McFarland (Cottonwood, Ariz./Gateway Community College) and
Sam Kysor (Port Allegany, Pa./USC Upstate) all finished with two hits for LHU.
Down 4-1 in the top of the third Lahn singled home two Bald Eagles cutting the Warrior's lead to just one.
McFarland was two for three on the day including a towering solo homerun to deep leftfield in the top of the sixth.
Kysor went two for three with a double.
Kolby DeHass (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley Community College) went three for four at the dish for the Bald Eagles.
Lock Haven and IUP will play one nine-inning game on Tuesday, May 2 in Lock Haven at 2 p.m.
