BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (25-19, 13-7 PSAC Central) split today with Bloomsburg University (28-16, 16-4 PSAC Central). The Huskies won game one 3-2 and the Bald Eagles took game two 2-1 to wrap up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central play.
Yesterday's (Friday, April 28) split with Clarion helped Lock Haven clinched a spot in the postseason. It marks the Bald Eagles second straight trip to the PSAC Tournament after qualifying last season for the first time since 2013.
In game one
Bekah Slattery (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) threw six strong innings for the Bald Eagles allowing just three runs on four hits striking out five Huskies.
Senior,
McKenna Garlock (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon) was one for three at the plate with a double and an RBI, extending her school record for doubles to 47.
Michelle Holweger (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) also went one for three at the dish driving in one run on an RBI single.
In game two
Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott) picked up her 12
th victory of the season in a 2-1 win over Bloomsburg.
Mouillesseaux went the distance striking out seven and walking only two.
Holweger and Garlock continued to guide the Bald Eagle offense both going one for three at the plate and finishing one RBI each.
The 2017 PSAC Tournament is set for Wednesday, May 3 through Saturday, May 6 at Veterans Park in Quakertown, Pa. Much more information regarding the PSAC Tournament will be posted at
