2017 PSAC Tournament Central
QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (25-20) dropped its 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament opener to Seton Hill (22-22) today, 10-2 (5 innings).
Lock Haven will return to action tomorrow (Thursday, May 4) in an elimination game.
Seton Hill jumped on Lock Haven early and scored five runs in the top of the first inning.
LHU was quick to respond in the bottom half of the first after
Michelle Holweger (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) hit a two-run home run.
Leading 6-2 after two, the Griffins added a run in the third and three more in the fourth on the way to the 10-2 five-inning win.
Faith Ceely (Troy, Pa./Troy) was 2 for 3 with a run scored for Lock Haven and pitcher
Bekah Slattery (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) struck out three.
The 2017 PSAC Tournament resumes tomorrow (Thurs., May 4) and Lock Haven will be in action at 10 a.m. vs. the winner of tonight's Game 6 (6 p.m.) – IUP vs. California.
