LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Rachel Engler (Perkiomenville, Pa./Rutgers) scored three goals, and
Hayley Kilian (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) tallied four points, but it wasn't enough as the No. 16 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (6-4, 3-2 PSAC) was edged by East Stroudsburg University (7-2, 3-1 PSAC), 10-7 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
Lock Haven led 5-4 at halftime, but the upstart-Warriors used a strong second half to push past the Bald Eagles.
Kilian had a goal and three assists to spark the attack.
Ashley Gochenaur (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) added a goal, caused three ESU turnovers and racked up five ground balls.
Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and
Kate Hooper (Perth, Western Australia/St. Mary Anglican) both scored, and
Alex O'Herrick (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) made an immediate impact in her return finishing with six of LHU's 10 draw controls.
Hannah Houde (Jackson, N.J./Slippery Rock Univ.) was fantastic between the pipes for Lock Haven and finished with 10 saves. At the other end ESU goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway was solid as well and made 14 saves.
Lock Haven, ranked No. 16, will head to No. 20 IUP on Friday (April 7) for a 4 p.m. PSAC showdown that features a pair of top-20 teams.
