EDINBORO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (1-3) downed Davis & Elkins in the Bald Eagles final match of four at this weekend's Rebich Investments Invitational, hosted by Edinboro.
Lock Haven opened the day with a tight 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-20 & 25-23) loss to Fairmont State, but earned the Day 2 split, thanks to a 3-0 victory over Davis & Elkins.
The Bald Eagles beat D&E 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22.
Yesterday (Friday, Sept. 1), LHU opened the season at the Edinboro Tournament, but lost both matches, falling to Bellarmine and Walsh.
In today's opener vs. Fairmont State, which proved to be a battle between both teams,
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) led Lock Haven with 13 kills.
Breanna McDonald (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) added 10.
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was a big reason behind the solid hitting of Stick and McDonald as she paced the offense with 30 assists.
