LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-11, 3-9 PSAC) fell at Thomas Fieldhouse to Millersville University (6-12, 4-8 PSAC) on a buzzer-beater in a thrilling Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action, 66-64.
The Bald Eagles and the Marauders traded jabs the entire game as the two teams played a well-rounded game. Lock Haven used a 13-0 run late in the first half to bring the score to 34-31 after 20 minutes of play.
The second half saw the same action as the first. The two teams improved their shooting from the field as the players got in rhythm. It came down to the buzzer as the two teams were tied until Marcus Akdison of Millersville floated in a bucket as time expired.
Tarojae Brake (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) led The Haven as he recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) was terrific from the field as he netted 20 points.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) also chipped in with a solid effort as he recorded 13 points and hauled in eight rebounds.
Lock Haven will stay at Thomas Fieldhouse for their next game when the Bald Eagles take on Cheyney. That game is set for Saturday, January 20, 2018 with a 2:00 p.m. tip.
