LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (6-11, 4-9 PSAC) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on its way to an 86-62 victory over Cheyney University (2-14, 2-10 PSAC) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest.
With just over four minutes into the game, the Bald Eagles raced out to a 13-2 lead. They would never look back and continued to have a double-digit lead for a majority of the game.
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) was dominant for The Haven in the first 20 minutes as he shot 6-8 from the field and added four free throws for a total of 16 points.
The second half saw the same tempo as the first for LHU.
Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) played a well-rounded game as he recorded 19 points, four rebounds and had three steals.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) shot the lights out from behind the three point line, shooting 4-5 for a total of 18 points. He also brought down seven rebounds and dished out three assists. This marks Cerruti's seventh consecutive game shooting 50% or better from the field.
LHU saw a total of nine players that recorded a point and 12 players brought down at least one rebound.
Up next for Lock Haven will be a road contest at Kutztown. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24 at 7:30 p.m.
