Bald Eagles fall on the road at Kutztown

The LHU men’s basketball team dropped a tough PSAC East road game at Kutztown.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (6-12, 4-10 PSAC) dropped a tough Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East road game at perennial PSAC power Kutztown University (14-3, 10-3 PSAC) 91-75.

The Bald Eagles and The Golden Bears battled early and often as the teams played a very physical game. Kutztown was able to jump out to an 22-11 early lead, but LHU used a 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 24-19 midway through the first half. KU was then able to start a big run and take a 50-32 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Lock Haven was able to cut the Kutztown lead down to 10, but they couldn't quite complete the comeback as The Golden Bears were able to knock down some tough and timely shots to secure the win.

The Bald Eagle offense was led by Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) as he led LHU with 19 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and Tarojae Brake (Coatesville, Pa./Octorara) both played well on the offensive end as well. Hunt was able to score 18 points to go along with six rebounds. Brake scored 15 points to go along with five assists and two blocks.

Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia, Archbishop Carroll) was solid for the Bald Eagles, totaling five points to go along with a career-high 11 rebounds and a blocked shot.
