LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (3-14, 2-11 PSAC) came all the way back from a 25-point first half deficit, but couldn't quite complete its epic comeback as Cheyney University (4-14, 2-10 PSAC) was able to hold on for an 80-73 win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action.

The Lady Wolves opened the game on a 27-2 run, however after the first quarter, the Haven began to chip away at the lead.

Lock Haven cut the Cheyney lead to 36-24 at the half, but Cheyney was able to push the lead back to 21 early in the third. With about seven minutes to go in the third, The Bald Eagles kicked it into high gear.

Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) scored seven straight points for LHU to cut the deficit to make it a 16-point game and eventually bring the Cheyney lead down to 58-50 going into the final quarter.

To start the fourth quarter, Lock Haven continued a 15-0 run to tie the game up at 58 and complete the 25-point comeback. However, Cheyney was able to make some timely buckets and a handful of free throws down the stretch to get the win.

The Haven was led by a terrific all-around performance by
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) as she led LHU with 20 points, a career-high nine rebounds and four assists. She also went a very efficient 11-12 from the free throw line.

Parker was also great for Lock Haven, tying her career-high with 18 points that all came in the second half run that allowed The Bald Eagles to get back into the game.

Mackenzie Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./IUP) and
Jordyn Kloster (Manchester, Pa./Millersville) both played well for The Haven. Livingston scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds while Kloster grabbed eight rebounds.

The Bald Eagles will travel to Kutztown for their next game to take on the Golden Bears. That game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2018 with a 5:30 tip off.
