LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (8-15, 3-11 PSAC) fell at home to the No. 20 Golden Knights of Gannon (24-1, 13-1 PSAC), 3-1 (15-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-13) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Friday night at Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles started the game fast and LHU was able to take the first set 25-15. Lock Haven and Gannon battled in the second set with GU eventually taking the set, 25-23. The Golden Knights then rallied to take home the final two sets to win the match.
Offensively, the Bald Eagles got a strong performance from
Breanna McDonald (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) who finished with 13 kills.
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) was also strong for The Haven, tallying 12 kills.
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) turned in a solid night as well, recording 34 assists.
Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) led the Lock Haven defense, racking up 23 digs in the match. Also strong defensively for LHU was
Veronica Morrison (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) as she recorded 19 digs while Nealon chipped in with 16.
