SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (16-9, 8-6 PSAC East) dropped a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Divisional road games at Shippensburg University (14-16, 4-9 PSAC East). LHU fell in the first game, 8-4, before falling in a tight second game, 4-2.
The Bald Eagles entered today's action coming off a mid-week PSAC East split at Mansfield.
GAME 1: L, 8-4
LHU fell 8-4 in game one.
Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College),
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College),
Kolby Dehaas (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley C.C.) and
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) led the way offensively.
Stover and Stotler both went 2 for 4. DeHaas drove in a pair of runs and Moore was 2 for 3 with a RBI.
Despite the loss, pitcher
Jesse Slinger (Pittsburgh/Youngstown State) struck out seven.
GAME 2: L, 4-2
Lock Haven fell in game two, 4-2.
Brady Chappell (Milton, Pa./Milton) led the way for The Haven at the plate, going a perfect 2-2 with a home run and two runs scored.
DeHaas,
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall) and
Reagan Lawlor (McMurray, Pa./Peters) all added hits for the Bald Eagles.
Stover also added an RBI.
Scott Leitholf (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) was solid on the mound for LHU, going six innings while giving up six hits, two earned runs while striking out six.

Tomorrow (Saturday, April 14), Lock Haven and Shippensburg will play two in The Haven. Game 1 tomorrow is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

This week, LHU baseball was ranked No. 4 in the most recent (Mon., April 9) NCBWA Atlantic Region poll and the LHU received votes in the national poll, which was released on Wednesday.
