LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (16-11, 8-8 PSAC East) fell at home to Shippensburg University (16-16, 6-9 PSAC East) 2-1 and 21-3 in a doubleheader between Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Divisional opponents Saturday at Watkins Field.
GAME 1: L, 2-1
Shippensburg was able to take the first game, 2-1.
Justin Sleigh (Dubois, Pa./Dubois) led the way for the LHU offense, going 2-3 at the plate with a double.
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) went 1-3 with an RBI while
Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College) added a single.
Avery Eddy (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) was solid on the mound for LHU, going the distance while allowing six hit, two earned runs and striking out two.
GAME 2: L, 21-3
Lock Haven fell in game two, 21-3
Sleigh and Stover led the Lock Haven offense once again in game two. Stover went 2-2 at the plate with a run scored while Sleigh went 2-3 with a double, run scored and an RBI.
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College),
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa/Loyalsock) and
Keyshawn D'Orso (Pittsburgh/Mercyhurst Northeast CC) all added hits for the Bald Eagles.
