MANSFIELD, Pa. – A day after having its 15-game win streak snapped, the Bald Eagles got right back on track and started a new one as the Lock Haven University softball team (24-10, 12-0 PSAC Central) swept Mansfield University (7-8, 5-5 PSAC Central) today on the road. In today's doubleheader sweep, LHU posted back-to-back 8-0 wins.
 
With the sweep, LHU improved to a perfect 12-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division play.
 
Over the two games, the Bald Eagles scored 16 runs on 23 hits and hit four home runs including two from 
Casey Carpenter (Spring Brook, Pa./North Pocono) in game two.
 
GAME 1: W, 8-0 (5 inn.)
 
LHU jumped on host Mansfield early in game-one, plating two runs in the top of the first. A four-run fourth made it 6-0. Highlighting the top of the fourth was 
Becca Caputo's (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) three-run home run. In the top of the fifth, 
Amanda Loar (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) paved the way for the 8-0 fifth-inning win with a two-run homer to left.
 
Caputo was 3 for 3 at the plate in game one and 
Traci Kromko (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) added a pair of hits.
 
Pitcher 
Bekah Slattery (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) allowed just one hit in five innings. She struck out seven in another dominating effort in the circle.
 
GAME 2: W, 8-0
 
Leading 1-0, LHU broke open the game with four runs in the fifth.
 
Leading the way for Lock Haven at the plate was Carpenter who hit a solo homer in the second and solo home run in the seventh. She was 4 for 4 with two runs scored and four RBIs in an all-around outstanding offensive outing.
 
Madison Mathes (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Loar added a pair of game-two hits.
 
Pitcher 
Kayla Gee (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) scattered five hits and struck out three on the way to the win.
