LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bald Eagle bats got things going early and often as the Lock Haven University baseball team (20-11, 10-8 PSAC East) powered its way to a monumental Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division sweep of visiting Bloomsburg University (23-9, 13-5 PSAC East). LHU won the game-one slugfest 9-8 and Lock Haven took game two, 9-3 over the first-place Huskies.
Over the two-game span, LHU scored 18 runs on 28 hits.
GAME 1: W, 9-8
Keyshawn D'Orso (Pittsburgh/Mercyhurst North East C.C.) hit a two-run home run and finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College) was 3 for 3 with a homer and
Kolby Dehaas (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley C.C.) was 3 for 3.
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) added two hits and
Ethan Moore (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) knocked in two runs.
Jesse Slinger (Pittsburg/Youngstown St.) struck out six on the way to the win.
Breton LaRose (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Sacred Heart) recorded another save after a three-out, two-strikeout effort.
GAME 2: W, 9-3
The bats stayed hot in game two and pitcher
Scott Leitholf (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) struck out seven on the way to the complete-game win.
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall) was 3 for 4 and Stover was 2 for 3. DeHaas was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Sleigh was 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
