MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (21-15, 11-12 PSAC East) used a four-run seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and take game one of the doubleheader against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division power Millersville University (27-15, 15-8 PSAC East), 8-4, Saturday at Millersville. Game two was postponed due to poor weather conditions. The Bald Eagles and Marauders will now finish the doubleheader tomorrow (April 29) with the game beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Yesterday (Fri., April 27), Millersville won both games in Lock Haven.
GAME 1: W, 8-4
Justin Sleigh (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) hit a three-run triple to highlight a huge four-run seventh inning to take an 8-4 lead and knock off Millersville in a big PSAC East matchup.
Sleigh led the way for LHU, going 3-4 at the plate with three RBIs, two runs scored and his clutch triple that broke the 4-4 tie in the seventh.
Cayden Stover (Beech Creek, Pa./Chesapeake College) and
Kolby Dehaas (Coeur D'alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley Community College) were solid for Lock Haven as well. Stover went 2-4 with and RBI and a run scored while DeHaas went 2-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall) added a single and an RBI while
Nick Stotler (Pittsburg/Coker College) added a single and a run scored.
Ross Mintzer (Glensdie, Pa./Rowan Gloucester CC) got the win on the hill for LHU, going six innings strong while giving up four hits and striking out two.
GAME 2: PPD to Sunday, April 29 @ 1:00 p.m.
Game two was postponed until tomorrow (April 29) at Millersville. That game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
