LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (5-8, 0-4 PSAC) fell at home to the Crimson Hawks of IUP (6-11, 2-2 PSAC), 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Saturday afternoon at Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles actually outscored IUP throughout the entire match, but the Crimson Hawks were able to slip by LHU thanks to three, narrow set victories.
Lock Haven started the match fast, winning the first set 25-15 and jumping out to an early 1-0 lead.
Indiana (Pa.) was able to take the next three sets and get the win.
The LHU offense was all about balance in the match.
Breanna McDonald (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) and
Gloria Kroh (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area) led the balanced attack with 10 kills apiece.
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) and
Chloe Williams (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) each chipped in with nine kills while
Veronica Morrison (Wyalusing, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) added seven.
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) had another strong game for Lock Haven, tallying 41 assists and eight digs.
Shaye Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) led the Haven defense, tallying 28 digs to go with five assists. Williams also was strong on defense, finishing with three solo blocks.

The Bald Eagles will hit the road for the next game when the team travels to Millersville on Friday, September 28. That game is set for a 7:00 pm first serve.
