LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – An upset-minded Lock Haven University women's basketball team (8-7, 4-5 PSAC) turned up the defensive effort, but No. 16 California (Pa.) University (13-1, 7-1 PSAC) rallied and pulled away late in a 65-49 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest.
It was a five-point game at halftime as Cal led 32-27 and for the game, Lock Haven forced 13 Vulcan-turnovers, but a run by California late in the third quarter carried over to a quick start in the fourth, and the visitors never relinquished the lead.
Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) was one of three Lock Haven players in double-figures scoring. She finished with 12 points and both
Taylor Leidy (Alexandria, Pa./Juniata Valley) and
Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) added 10 points apiece.
Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) netted nine points to go along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Redman added six rebounds and three assists, while Leidy grabbed five boards and handed out three assists as well.
Seairra Barrett led Cal with 24 points.
LHU will host Shippensburg on Wednesday (Jan. 16) at 5:30 p.m.
