EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Despite a strong run from the Bald Eagles early in the second half, the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-6, 4-4 PSAC East) fell to host and regionally-ranked East Stroudsburg (10-4, 7-1 PSAC East), 83-65, tonight in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
 
Leading the way for Lock Haven was 
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) who kept up his strong play. He finished with a game-high 21 points thanks to a trio of 3-pointers. He also grabbed nine rebounds.
 
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) netted 15 points to go along with six rebounds.
 
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) added 14 points, five assists and four steals, and 
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) grabbed seven rebounds.
 
Lock Haven trailed at halftime, but opened the second half on a big run which got LHU back into the game, but overall, ESU saw six players score in double figures for the game and that balanced scoring approach helped the Warriors hold on for the home win in PSAC East play.
 
Lock Haven will return to the court on Saturday, January 12 at 3 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host California (Pa.) University.
