Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s soccer drops PSAC clash to West Chester

The LHU men’s soccer team drops a hard fought match to West Chester, 1-0.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In true Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action (PSAC) it was a hard fought game between each side. West Chester (10-2-1, 7-1-1PSAC East) would ultimately take the match over Lock Haven (6-8, 3-5 PSAC East) 1-0.

The Golden Rams scored in the 35th minute of the play that turned out to be all they would need to escape with the win.

In the first half of play the defensive unit stood strong in facing nine West Chester shots but only two of them were on goal. The 35th minute would give WCU a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half of play was much better for the Bald Eagles as they created chance after chance but just could not find the goal they were looking for to tie the game.

Andrea DiSomma (Lancaster, Pa./ Manheim Township) did all he could to try and bring the Bald Eagles back by firing away four shots. His best chance came late in the second half when he had the ball on his left foot but shot it just high and wide of the cage.

Shane Colegrove (Athens, Pa./ Athens) got off a couple of shots to challenge the WCU defense but they stood strong in preserving the 1-0 lead.

During the 82nd minute Camden Cook (Rosedale, Md./High Point) tried to light a fire under the Haven as he made a huge save to keep LHU in the game. Cook would finish the game with six saves.
