LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – As the temperature dropped the Lock Haven men's soccer team was heating up. The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (5-6, 2-3 PSAC East) defeated visiting Shepherd by a final score of 4-3 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action..
The first 10 minutes of the game had plenty of action seeing a total of 3 goals.
Andrea DiSomma (Lancaster, Pa./ Manheim Township) got the ball rolling for the Bald Eagles as his two first half goals came within two minuets of each other.
The first goal was a set up from Justin Douglas (Allentown, Pa./ Parkland) who played a gorgeous ball to DiSomma to beat the defense and give LHU a 1-0 lead.
The second goal was set up by Ivo Klaric (Vienna, Austria/University of Vienna) who was active all night. Klaric played a decisive through ball that found DiSomma giving the Bald Eagles a two goal lead.
Shepherd would get on the score sheet just three minutes later on a goal from Steven Choque.
In the 20th minute of play, senior goalkeeper Camden Cook (Rosedale, Md./High Point)
made a fantastic leaping save to preserve the 2-1 lead going into halftime.
Much like the first half, the second half would play out very similar. It was a half that saw four goals in total with each side finding the back of the net twice.
Having already recording an assist on the night, Klaric decided that was not enough as put home a volley off a corner from Beckham Sibiski (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown).
LHU would call on DiSomma again who scored his third goal of the game and the eventual game winner. The third goal marked another natural hat trick for DiSomma to give him his second hat trick this season and his second hat trick in the last three games.
