LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (11-13, 8-11 PSAC) took down Millersville University (16-11, 11-8 PSAC), 73-70, in a thrilling overtime win at the Thomas Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon. The matchup between the 6
th place Bald Eagles and 4
th place Marauders came down to the wire in an important battle for seeding in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs.

The Bald Eagles and Marauders battled out an even first half with neither team able to stretch a lead larger than six points. Millersville would take a slender 37-33 lead into halftime.

The second half would be more of the same competitive basketball. A hotly contested 20 minutes would see the Marauders build up to an eight-point lead early, but the Bald Eagles would battle back with a run of their own and take a 55-48 lead with 10 minutes to play. An exciting finish would follow, at just under five minutes to play Millersville would hit back-to-back three-pointers to close the gap to 60-58. In the final minute of play the Marauders would take a three point lead, but
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) would step up and hit a heavily contested clutch three-pointer to send the game to overtime at 63-63.

In overtime,
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Wood) would dominate, scoring six huge points and grabbing critical rebounds. McPherson's bucket in the final minute would give the Haven a 71-70 lead. After a defensive stop, Kelly would grab a defensive rebound and sink both of his free throws to push the LHU lead to three. The Haven defense would stand strong one final time and stifle the Marauders last possession to bring home the huge win 73-70.

Kelly would pace a balanced Haven scoring output in which four players reached double figures. Kelly poured in 25 points including 4-8 on three pointers and grabbed 13 rebounds for his second double-double on the year.

McPherson also had a huge day for the Haven, especially in the overtime period, scoring 18 points and hauling in 10 rebounds for his second double-double.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) would add 12 points and six assists and
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) chipped in with 10 points and four assists.
