#23 Lacrosse rallies late, edged out by RWC

The No. 23rd ranked LHU lacrosse team fell on the road today in non-conference action to Roberts Wesleyan.

2/28/2019 6:27:00 PM

Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – With less than 12 minutes to play in the contest, the Bald Eagles rallied and did all they could to come back on the road, but the No. 23 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (0-2) was downed by Roberts Wesleyan College (5-0), 13-9.

LHU trailed 12-5 when Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) scored to make it 12-6 with 11:55 to play in the game. The Reddinger goal was the first of four straight from LHU including a hat trick in that span from Karli Gilbert (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown). Gilbert's third goal of that Lock Haven surge made it 12-9 RWC with 3:30 to go.

The rally came up just short however, as the hosts held off the late-charging Bald Eagles.

Gilbert finished with four goals and Kate Hooper (Perth, Western Australia/St. Mary Anglican Girls School) netted a pair. Campbell Brant (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) dished out two assists.

Allison Barnes (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) led the defensive unit with two caused turnovers and goalkeeper Lauren Girardi (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) made seven saves.

The Bald Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, March 6 at 4 p.m. when they host Alderson Broaddus in non-conference action.
