CALDWELL, N.J. – The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (2-3) scored just 56 seconds into the game as the Bald Eagle goals came early and often on the way to a 24-9 road-win at Caldwell University (1-2) this afternoon in non-conference action.
The duo of
Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and
Loren Librizzi (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) combined for 20 points as the offense surged today.
The 24 goals are the most scored since LHU netted 27 on March 9, 2014 in a win at Findlay and the win was the first road victory of the season for Lock Haven.
Reddinger scored seven goals and added five assists on the way to her 12-point outing. Librizzi scored twice and dished out six assists (8 points).
The Bald Eagles led 17-6 at halftime and outshot host Caldwell 44-22 for the game. LHU held a 21-16 advantage in ground balls.
Caitlin Morrow (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) netted four goals and
Krysta Reading (Central Bucks South/Warrington, Pa.) added four goals of her own. Reading tallied two assists and six ground balls.
LHU goalkeepers
Lauren Girardi (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) and
Jordan Vereb (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) combined for 12 saves in the win.
The Bald Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, March 19 when they travel to nationally-ranked Slippery Rock (4 p.m.). The game will mark Lock Haven's 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener.
