BLOOMABURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team (13-11, 2-2 PSACC) saw the team's 23 game win streak over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division foes come to a close Saturday afternoon as the team fell to Bloomsburg University (12-11, 3-1 PSACC) in both ends of a doubleheader. LHU fell to Bloom, 7-4 in game one before dropping game two, 9-0 in six innings.
Game one: L, 7-4
The Bald Eagles fell to the Huskies, 7-4 in game one.
LHU hopped on the scoreboard early in the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Bloom was able to respond, scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
BU was able to push their lead to 7-1, but LHU battled back in the fourth highlighted by a two-run triple by
Faith Ceely (Troy, Pa./Troy) that cut the Lock Haven deficit to 7-4.
Bloom was eventually able to stop the Haven rally and hold on for the 7-4 win.
Ceely led the LHU offense, finishing with a triple, a run scored and two RBI's.
Casey Carpenter (Spring Brook, Pa./North Pocono) added a double while
Mikayla Ruppert (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) added a hit as well.
Caputo pitched well for Lock Haven, throwing 4.2 innings of shut-out softball while allowing five hits and striking out a pair.
Game two: L, 9-0 (6 inn.)
LHU fell in game two, 9-0 in six innings.
The trio of Ceely,
Rachel Gricoski (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylkill) and
Madison Mathes (Hammonton, Pa./Hammonton) led the LHU offense as they all tallied hits in the game.
Kayla Gee (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) pitched well for Lock Haven, allowing three earned runs over five innings pitched. She gave up six hits and struck out four.

The Bald Eagles will return home for the next set of games when they play host to Shippensburg University for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 2. Those games are set for 2:30 and 4:30 first pitches.
