LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (17-15-1, 10-8 PSAC) won both games over Shippensburg University (14-22, 6-12 PSAC) on Thursday (April 18) afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Divisional action.

Game 1: W, 4-0

Jesse Slinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Youngstown St) took the mound in game one for the Bald Eagles and pitched a complete game shutout against the Raiders. Slinger struck out five, walked just one batter, and allowed seven hits.

Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall),
Max Joseph (Marlton, N.J./Harford CC) and
Jimmy Webb (Montoursville, Pa/Loyalsock) were the three Bald Eagles who each drove in one run. The trio also eached pitched in one hit for three of the five Haven hits in the game.

Providing the other two hits for LHU were
John Banes (Springfield, Pa./Cumberland CC) and
Colby Hiddemen (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley).

Game 2: W, 6-0

Last year's PSAC East Freshman of the year
Scott Leitholf (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York), got the start in game two and also went all seven innings for The Haven. Leitholf did not allow a run and only gave up three hits. He struck out eight batters and walked only two on the day.

Offensively for the Bald Eagles, McArthur and Banes each drove in two runs and recorded one hit.

Joe Zgleszewski (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led the team in hits and finished the game 3-4 and scored two runs. Hiddeman and Demetruis Haskins (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) each notched two hits to help pace The Haven offense.

The Bald Eagles will continue their four-game series with Shippensburg on Saturday (April 20) afternoon. Shippensburg will host the doubleheader and first pitches are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
