BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (18-22-1, 11-13 PSAC East) and Bloomsburg University (30-10, 18-6 PSAC East) wrapped up their four-game weekend Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series this afternoon after the weekend weather forced the two to play today (Monday) at Bloomsburg. The host-Huskies took both games, thanks to 7-2 (Game 1) and 11-6 (Game 2) victories.
Host-Bloomsburg took Game 1, 7-2. The Huskies scored seven runs on 10 hits and led early.
The Bald Eagles' two game-one runs came by way of a two-run home run from
Max Joseph (Marlton, N.J./Harford C.C.) in the top of the fourth.
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall),
Reagan Lawlor (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township),
John Banes (Springfield, Pa./Cumberland CC) and
Colby Hiddemen (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) all had hits for LHU.
In Game 2, Bloomsburg plated five runs in the first, five in the second and won 11-6.
LHU's six runs came from 10 hits, including a two-run home run from
Pedro Peguero (Hershey, Pa./Mercyhurst North East C.C.).
Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./St. Bonaventure) had an RBI-double. McArthur was 3 for 4 and knocked in a run.
LHU is scheduled to travel to Slippery Rock University tomorrow (Tuesday, April 30) for a non-conference doubleheader (4/6 p.m.). The Bald Eagles will close out PSAC East play next weekend (Friday & Saturday, May 3-4) vs. nationally-ranked Millersville. The four-game series opens at Millersville Friday (1/3 p.m.).
