LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (9-14-1, 3-7 PSACE) swept Mansfield University (5-17, 2-8 PSACE) in both games of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
Game One: W, 5-0
Lock Haven jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning behind a big, two run single from
Jimmy Webb (Montoursville, Pa/Loyalsock) on the way to a dominating 5-0 victory in game one. Webb led the Bald Eagles with two RBI's.
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall),
Max Joseph (Marlton, N.J./Harford CC) and
Colby Hiddemen (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) each turned in an RBI of their own.
The Haven finished with eight hits in the game. McArthur and
John Banes (Springfield, Pa./Cumberland CC) each finished with two hits.
Jesse Slinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Youngstown St) was phenomenal on the mound for LHU, allowing just two hits while striking out 3 batters.
Game Two: W, 4-3
Lock Haven scored two runs late to win the second game of the double header.
Hiddeman started the scoring in the second game for the Bald Eagles by plating a run via a single up the middle to tie the game at two runs apiece.
The Bald Eagles were trailing coming into the bottom of sixth, 3-2. Not until
Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./St. Bonaventure) crushed a double down the left field line that scored 2 to give Lock Haven a 4-3 advantage.
Dillon Good (Denver, Pa./Nyack) came on to pitch the bottom of the 7th to secure the Bald Eagle victory. It was Good's first save of the year.
Scott Leitholf (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) got the start in game two and was able to keep the Mansfield bats at bay by scattering 3 runs over 6 innings while striking out 4 Mounties along the way.

Lock Haven will head to Mansfield University tomorrow, April 7th, for another doubleheader with the first game starting at 1:00 pm.
