LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (4-5) fell at home in non-conference action vs. Long Island (2-5), 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bald Eagles controlled the majority of the game and outshot the Sharks 11- 6 on the day, but in the 36
th minute Emma Braeckmans finished off a rebound in what proved to be the lone goal on the day.

Jazmin Palma (Entre Rios Province, Argentina./Colegio Sagrado Corazon de Jesus) and
MacKenzie Farley (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) each peppered the LIU goalie with three shots but could not find the back of the net.

Kayla Brathwaite (Arouca, Trinidad and Tobago/Bishop Anstey East) turned in a strong performance from midfield controlling the possession and helping spark the attack.

Lock Haven also held a decisive 5-0 advantage in penalty corners, but were denied by a six save performance from Rachel Vellis.

Lock Haven opened Homecoming Weekend 2019 Friday (Sept. 27) with a thrilling Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) overtime-win over Richmond, 2-1.

Next up, the Bald Eagles are headed back on the road and will return to action on Friday, October 4 at 3 p.m. at No. 11 Saint Joseph's. It's the first of two A-10 road games scheduled for next weekend. Lock Haven will close the weekend at La Salle on Sunday, October 6 at 12 p.m.
