EDINBORO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's volleyball team (3-1) enjoyed a nice day on the court,in the opening match of today's Rebich Invitational the Bald Eagles defeated Salem, 3-0, in straight sets. In the second match of the day it was a battle of unbeaten teams as Lock Haven ultimately fell to Minnesota State-Moorhead (4-0), 3-0.
To cap a solid tournament two Bald Eagles were named to the Rebich Investments Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Breanna McDonald (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) and
Kristen Nealon (Horsham, Pa./Archbishop Wood) were honored on the team for the stellar play over the weekend.
Game 1: W 3-0
The Lock Haven women's volleyball team continued their strong play from yesterday by defeating Salem University in straight sets. LHU was in control from the opening serve as they won the first set 25-15. The second and third sets were no different as the Bald Eagles won the second set 25-19 and the third set 25-15.
It was an all-around team effort during the match for Lock Haven as they had five different players record five or more kills and three different players record 10 or more digs.
Gloriah Kroh (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area) led the way offensively as she recorded a team high nine kills.
Cassidy Hoover (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle High) and
Adriana Serpe (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decator) were just behind with seven kills each in helping LHU improve to 3-0.
The Bald Eagle defense was stellar throughout the match as three players recorded 10 or more digs.
Nealon had a team high 13 digs to go along with another team high 29 assists.
Paige Wolfe (Plano, Tx./Plano West) was once again in the middle of the defense recording 11 digs. McDonald rounded out the trio tallying 10 digs herself.
Game 2: L 0-3
Lock Haven dropped their first match of the season in straight sets against Minnesota State Moorhead. Nealon led the way with 20 assists and McDonald put away seven kills. Wolfe tallied another 17 digs but the Haven fell short to a strong performance from MSU Moorhead.

Lock Haven will travel to the Soap for Hope Tri-Match on Saturday, September 14 when they face Saint Rose (11 a.m.) and NYACK (1 p.m.)
