SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – The LHU men's basketball team (6-7, 3-6 PSAC) picked up a tough road win over Shepherd University (6-9, 2-7 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Haven and Shepherd played a back and forth first half in which Lock Haven shot an impressive 52 percent from the field and led 38-34 at the half. Shepherd however, responded in the second half and were able to take charge late in the game.
 
Lock Haven trailed the Rams 69-59 with just 3:39 remaining in the game when first team All-PSAC guard 
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led an inspired Bald Eagle comeback. The junior guard scored nine late points as part of a 14-3 Haven run to close the final minutes.
 
Cerruti scored the final seven points of the game for the Bald Eagles including the game winner with just two seconds remaining. The junior corralled the ball with under ten seconds to play, beat a defender to the baseline and pump faked another Ram defender before laying in the clutch bucket. Cerruti finished the game with 29 points on 10-18 from the field, 4-5 from downtown and a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line.
 
Trevor Lecuona (Baltimore, Md./ Oakdale) and 
Eli Washington (Lancaster, Pa./ Hempfield) both chipped in reaching double digits in scoring for the Haven. Lecuona tallied 12 points along with six rebounds while Washington notched 11 points on 3-4 from three-point range.
 
Nasir Campbell (Philadelphia/ Simon Gratz) hauled in a team high eight boards and also chipped in nine points to help push the Haven to a gritty road win.
