LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The LHU men's basketball team (8-9, 5-8 PSAC) dropped a home contest to Shippensburg University (16-3, 11-1 PSAC), 88-70, on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division action.
The Raiders jumped out early on the Bald Eagles 19-10 in the opening ten minutes of the first half thanks to clinical shooting from three point land. Shippensburg pulled away for a 49-30 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Raiders continued their hot shooting and finished the day at 52 percent from downtown. That shooting propelled them to the 88-70 win in Thomas Fieldhouse.
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) led a quartet of Bald Eagles in doubles figures with 14 points on 4-6 from the field. McPherson added four rebounds and one block to his effort.
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) and
Eli Washington (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) each scored 13 points. Kelly grabbed a team best seven rebounds and also blocked two shots.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) rounded out the Bald Eagles in double figures chipping in 10 points. Cerruti also blocked two shots.

The Haven travels to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, January 29 in their next outing. That game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. tipoff.
