WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (12-11, 9-10 PSACE) fell to West Chester University (17-8, 11-8 PSACE), 98-83, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams started strong and jumped out on the Bald Eagles 22-8 in the opening eight minutes of the game. West Chester held a 55-25 lead going into halftime, and did not look back in the second half. The Golden Rams closed out the game, despite a late surge from the Haven, and won 98-83.
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) continued his fine form and paced the Bald Eagles with 26 points on the day. Kelly went 8-15 from the field and also grabbed six rebounds.
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) and
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) made up a trio of Bald Eagles in double figures chipping in with 16 and 13 points, respectively. McPherson led all players and tied his career high with 14 rebounds and also blocked three shots, while Cerruti grabbed seven rebounds and shot 3-5 from beyond the arc.

Lock Haven will return to action on Wednesday, February 26 when they host East Stroudsburg on senior night for the Bald Eagles. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
