BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University Lacrosse team (0-1) fell on the road against Bloomsburg University (2-1) in the opening game of their 2020 season on Tuesday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.

The Huskies started strong and scored just two minutes into the game. Bloomsburg continued to press its advantage in the first half and took an eventual 8-1 lead into the break.

The Bald Eagles opened the second half on a mission and scratched their way back into the game. The Haven outscored Bloomsburg 6-2 in the second half, but their comeback bid ran out of time as the Huskies held on for the 10-7 victory.

The Haven was paced by
Karli Gilbert (Perkiomenville, Pa./Boyertown) and
Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) who each produced three points on the night. Gilbert found the back of the net three times and kick started the Haven offense scoring three of the first four Bald Eagle goals. Reddinger handed out a team-high two assists and bagged a goal.

Goalkeeper
Lauren Girardi (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) recorded 11 saves in an effort to keep the Haven comeback intact.

Zoe Waddell (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville),
Raleigh Bateman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and
Addy Borkowski (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) rounded out the scorers for LHU and each notched one goal apiece.

The Haven held a slight 9-8 advantage in draw controls led by Reddinger with four, and a 23-20 lead in ground balls as Gilbert,
Lauryn Yaskowski (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and
Loren Librizzi (Miller Place, N.Y./Millerplace) each grabbed three ground balls.
