LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (2-10, 0-2 PSAC East) fell to visiting West Chester University (10-3, 2-0 PSAC East), 3-1, (25-20, 16-25, 25-19 & 25-21) in a hard-fought four-set Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match.
For LHU, it marked the Bald Eagles first home PSAC East match of the season and their first home match since the first weekend of the 2021 season.
After dropping the first set (25-20), LHU came back with a vengeance in the second outscoring WCU, 25-16. Logging 13 kills in the set with a .278 kill percentage, the Bald Eagles efficiency pushed them past Golden Rams.
WCU picked up a crucial win in the third set, 25-19. LHU played well in the fourth set, burying 15 kills on 37 attempts for a .351 kill percentage. There were eight lead changes in the final set, but in the end, it would finish (25-21) in favor on West Chester.
On the attacking side of the ball hometown hero
Evie Jane Rembold (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) put in a strong individual effort. She notched nine kills for a stellar .304 kill percentage.
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)) also put in a notable performance. She was perfect on receptions with 24 and added four aces from the back line.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) paced the offense with 40 assists.

The Bald Eagles get right back onto the court tomorrow when they host Millersville. Saturday's matchup with the Marauders is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
