LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (2-14, 0-6 PSAC) fell to Shepherd University (17-1, 6-0 PSAC) in four sets of hard-fought Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
The Bald Eagles played a great first set behind the power of the LHU frontline. Propelled by 17 kills, Lock Haven took the set win, 25-22. The Bald Eagles would then drop the next three (25-16, 26-24, 25-23) despite logging another 40 kills as a team.
Emma Kelly (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Ranch) led the team in hitting percentage, logging ten kills on 18 attempts for a .444 attacking percentage.
Gabriela Fialova (Ledec nad Sazavou, Czech Republic/ (Indian River)),
Grace Hugar (Clarence, Pa./Bald Eagle) and
Alyssa Daley (Everett, Pa./Everett) combined for 37 kills between the trio. Fialova added 34 receptions to her stat line.
Kelly Gaston (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) notched 44 assists on the day, and behind the back line
Ella McBride (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) grabbed six service aces.
