LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (3-14, 1-6 PSAC) defeated Shippensburg University (8-13, 2-5 PSAC) in four sets of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action today, October 16.
Today's win marked the first since a September 10 win over Salem. The win for The Haven also serves as their first conference win of the season.
The Bald Eagles collected the first set 25-17, behind 12 kills. The LHU defense held the Raiders offense to just six kills in the set. Shippensburg rebounded in the second set for the 25-21 win, but Lock Haven shut down the surge with two straight set wins (25-18, 25-23) to take the match.
Grace Hugar (Clarence, Pa./Bald Eagle) took control of the match from the front line knocking down 14 kills. She added a perfect serving percentage and two aces from the back line. Her additional ten digs rounded out a great performance for the Bald Eagle.

Regan Happ (Lighthouse Point, Fla./Westminster Academy) collected 26 digs for a match-high. Her effort kept the Bald Eagles in contention in a match highlighted by a total of 21 ties and 9 lead changes throughout the exchange.
Kelly Gaston's (Centennial, Colo./Grandview) 39 assists set Lock Haven up for success, while
Meghan Tennant's (Bentleyville, Pa./Bentworth) efficiency from the front line and a .333 attacking percentage behind seven kills, paced the offense.

The Bald Eagles finish up their three-game homestand on Friday (Oct. 22) when they host Bloomsburg as part of homecoming weekend. That matchup is set for an 8 p.m. start time.
